Go Boards Were Presented to the Kaiho Education Foundation
When expressing thanks as the winning pair, Meijin Mr. Yoda said, "I am very glad about becoming the champion on my first visit to Taiwan. Especially, I am delighted that Ms. Kusunoki looks happyc.." In response to his remark, 7-dan Ms. Kusunoki revealed an episode, "To tell the truth, I once played pair Go games 35 years ago at the party to congratulate Mr. Kaiho Rin on his winning the Meijin title for the first time." Both players were all smiles.
Nine-dan Mr. Rin, who missed the championship to his regret, said, "Thanks to Ms. Osawa's play, our team has advanced to the finals. So, I am very happy to have won second place." Second-dan Ms. Osawa also expressed her pleasure, saying, "I am grateful to Mr. Rin and the staff members who took me to Taiwan.

To the champion pair, a prize of five million yen was presented. Of the prize, one million yen is to be allocated for the Go popularization project to present Go board sets to applicant elementary, junior high and senior high schools throughout Japan. Also, the Japan Pair Go Association presented 50 Go board sets to the Kaiho Education Foundation that had made efforts toward the local acceptance of the finals.
