Finally, the games started. The tournament rule is based on the NHK system, no handicap, black stones with 6.5-Moku Komidashi (in compensation for the advantage), countdown for 30 seconds/stone from the first stone, and 10 times of decision making time of 1 minite/time. |

In the first round, one will play with the opponent pair as determined by the lottery. In the second round, a winning pair will play agaist other winning pair, and a losing pair will play against other losing pair. The second straight winning pair will proceed to the semifinal round. The second straight losing pair will drop out. The remaining 8 pairs of one winning and one losing will compete for the quarterfinal round that will be held on 11th. They will be playing using a Go board with 9 vertical and horizontal lines. |
