Four Pairs which opted for quarterfinal advance in the sub sequent game

Finally, here are the comments from 4 pairs who proceeded to the quarterfinal round through the 9 x 9 board game.

Ms. Kumiko Yashiro 5-Dan, said "Last year I won the 9 x 9 board game at a tricky Yose (final bordering stage); however, Mr. Kobayashi played a good game fairly this year. It worked very well."

Mr. Kobayashi said, "I play the 9 x 9 board game once a year. Ms. Yashiro was quite energetic. I was lucky because she became very strong."

Ms. Kazuko Konishi &
Mr. Yoshio Ishida, pair

Ms. Konishi said, "This the first time I played the 9 x 9 board game since I played it in this tournament last year. The short time quick study before the game seems to be effective."

Mr. Ishida said, "To say a truth, we arranged so it called the strategy meeting just last night. As for the 9 x 9 board game, Ms. Konishi made a loss at the end and we were lucky to win the game by 0.5 Moku."

Ms H. Kato said, "We played the 9 x 9 board game in the same place as we fought the first round. We decided to take the opposite seat because we had lost the game in the first round..."

Mr. R. Oh said, "That's right. That decision leaded us to winning. I think our Go strategies are similar to each other, any way. I am looking forward the next week."

Ms. Hyonjon Kim 3-Dan said, "I was too nervous to play Go. At that time Mr. Hane encouraged me by saying "I may said have never won the pair-Go, so take it easy. Now, I feel happy because I can report his fearful wife so." (Ms. Kim and Mrs. Hane 1-Dan, are the best friend.)

Mr. Naoki Hane, the Kisei said, "My wife charged me that I must win the game once this time. We played the second round game for a long time, so we did not have much interval time left until the 9 x 9 lines game started. Accordingly, we had to play without any special idea. It might be the key for our winning."

Ms. Umezawa replied seriously, "No, not at all. But I tried a hair look paired with you."
