| Those 4 games were shown together on a big screen at the front of the tournament hall. They were easy to see and they were good for elderly fans because they could sit down and watch 4 games at a time. The seats in front of the huge screen were occupied in an instant. |

The game of the pair of Osawa 3dan and Cho Judan against the pair of Akiko Tsukuda 5dan and Satoru Kobayashi 9dan, was a severe one.
Redmond 9dan said, ‘It is a game which you can’t tell. It is fun to watch. But the participants are having a hard time.’ Cheerful comments made the fans delighted and when Cho Judan’s strict move was made, Redmond 9dan said, ‘That’s really Chikun sensei’s style. I don’t understand the meaning.’ That comment stirred the audience. |
| At the game of the pair Kikuyo Aoki 8dan and Naoki Hane 9dan against the pair of Shei Women’s Honinbo and Kono Tengen, it started with the white of Shei and Kono pair’s lead and gradually, Aoki and Hane pair put back and it became a confused game. |
| At the game of the pair of Umezawa Women’s Kisei and Ko 7dan against the pair of Kazuko Konishi 8dan and Hideyuki Sakai 7dan, Redmond 9dan commented, ‘Overall the black of Umezawa and Ko pair seems not bad.’ But he said, ‘Even though white has had stones taken, white is shaping up well.’ This game, too, was a confused one. |
