An event which marks the year end and new year of the Go circle is the pro pair Go championship with top players. The Pro Pair Go Ricoh Cup 2002 will start soon. All the participants, 16 male players and 16 female players, are top pro players who have been selected on the basis of the title holder list, prize ranking, etc. Teamed into 16 pairs, they will compete with one another in the tournament.

Who will become this year's best pair? The meeting to pair the players by drawing lots was held on October 9 at Hotel Edmont in Iidabashi,Tokyo. The following is a report of the meeting:
